Introducing: board member Ben van Assum
As a native of Almere, I feel a deep connection to the city. Here, I took my CKV lessons on the town hall square, learned to read music, played guitar, and subsequently practiced countless Taekwondo classes. In my opinion, cultural and athletic development is at least as important as formal education. I wish everyone this opportunity to challenge and develop themselves.

I attribute many of my fondest memories and a large part of my personality to my sport. As a coach, I continue to create new memories with future generations and help them realize their dreams, just as I was fortunate enough to do.
I wouldn't be who I am without the opportunities I've had
As I do this, I realize all too well that this isn't for everyone. In Almere, there are currently 5,000 children who may well have talents greater than mine. Of those 5,000, 3,000 haven't yet been reached by the Youth Fund, making financial resources the obstacle to pursuing their passion and developing their talent. That thought touches me to the core. I wouldn't be who I am without the opportunities I've had. Everyone should simply have that opportunity.
I will work tirelessly to ensure that money is not an obstacle to children's sporting and cultural development.
That's why I joined the board. My management experience, my business background, and my belief that everyone should have the opportunity to discover their passion have led me to take on this role with great energy and will work tirelessly to ensure that money is no obstacle to the athletic and cultural development of children in Almere.
