Sports equipment Paul Verweel Sports Fund Municipality of Utrecht

The Youth Sports Fund in the municipality of Utrecht has handed over the baton to the Paul Verweel Sports Fund. 

On February 14th, during the Utrecht Sports Award, the Paul Verweel Sports Fund (PVS) was launched. The new fund's motto is: "Sports opportunities for Utrecht youth." Through the Paul Verweel Sports Fund, children up to 17 years old who hold a U-pass can apply for a sports equipment of their choice.

Previously, the Youth Sports Fund was active in Utrecht in requesting sports equipment. This task will be transferred to the Paul Verweel Sports Fund starting February 14th. the website You can apply for a maximum of €100 per calendar year from the fund. This includes items such as sports shoes, competition uniforms, hockey sticks, football shorts, leotards, tennis rackets, or swimming trunks.

When completing an application, you enter your U-pas number, which is a requirement for eligibility. With a voucher issued by the fund, children can pick up their ordered equipment at one of the participating Utrecht sports shops. Also read the rules of the game on the fund's website.

Fun fact: As an additional boost for the fund, photos of the Utrecht Sports Award nominees are currently being auctioned. The proceeds will go to the fund, making it possible for even more children to apply.
