Project 'All children get a swimming diploma!' launched
At the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture, we've been helping children obtain their swimming certificate(s) for years. Swimming lessons are incredibly expensive. Unaffordable for our target group, that's why we're actively committed to making this happen. Because every child in the Netherlands should be safe in all the water in our country.
Swimming lesson backlog
For years, the number of children drowning annually decreased, thanks to swimming lessons and measures taken at swimming areas. Unfortunately, this decline has not been seen for several years: pediatricians even fear an increase, as children are falling behind in swimming lessons due to the coronavirus (Source: NH Nieuws, July 20, 2021).
Every child gets a swimming diploma
Because every child should be able to learn to swim safely, we've launched our "All Children a Swimming Diploma!" project. This means that in the coming period (at least until August 2022), we'll have even more options than usual to help children financially take swimming lessons, with the goal of obtaining their diploma(s).
Submit a request!
In short, do you know a child who can't take swimming lessons due to financial constraints, or has had to stop? Let parents know we can help and, as an intermediary, submit a request for a child!
