Apply for children aged 2 to 4 years

It's now also possible to apply for children aged 2 to 4! Do you think it's important for your baby, toddler, or preschooler to get some exercise, but can't afford the sports club or swimming school? The Almere Youth Fund for Sports & Culture will cover the membership fees or tuition for children aged 2 to 4.

Exercise is good for everyone, including babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. What's learned young, stays with you when you're older! Exercise contributes to healthy motor and social development in young children. It's an outlet, allows them to burn off energy, and teaches them skills like turn-taking and playing together. There are plenty of options for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers aged 2 to 4: baby swimming, toddler dance, toddler gymnastics, tumbling judo, the Miffy Exercise Diploma—you name it.

Swimming diplomas

Swimming isn't just fun; it's also vital in a country teeming with water. Would you like your son or daughter to take swimming lessons, but can't afford them? We can help! We cover the tuition for children if there's not enough money at home.

Through the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture Almere, children aged 5 and older can take swimming lessons to obtain their A diploma, with a diploma guarantee. The diploma guarantee expires if the child misses more than 5 lessons. This application can be submitted once at the following swimming pools: Aquayara swimming school, Van Rheenen Sport swimming school, Optisport Almere Poort, De Vrijbuiter, and Almere Stad. The following swimming pools do not guarantee a diploma, but applications can be submitted annually: De Watervrienden swimming club, De Reddingsbrigade swimming club, and Mineraalbad swimming school.

This is how you make an application:

  1. The application for a contribution is made by an intermediary. This could be a teacher, neighborhood sports coach, debt counselor, or
    social neighborhood team employee;
  2. The intermediary, in consultation with you, makes an application;
  3. You will hear within three weeks whether the application has been approved;
  4. After approval, you can register your child at the swimming school where your child wants to take lessons;
  5. We pay the membership fee or tuition directly to the swimming school. You don't receive any money yourself.

This is Casper from Gitaarles Almere. Casper teaches guitar, and maybe soon your child will too! Casper is a cultural provider for the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Almere (Almere Youth Fund for Sports and Culture). In this video, Casper explains why he finds culture and music so important. By applying to the Jeugdfonds, you can ensure your child can soon take guitar lessons with Casper. Together, we'll make sure your child can do what they want!

Apply for children with disabilities

We believe it's important that everyone has the opportunity to participate in sports and cultural activities. That's why we also support children with disabilities. The Youth Fund for Sports and Culture Almere provides everything children with disabilities need to participate in sports and cultural activities. We also collaborate with various organizations that offer sports and cultural activities for children with disabilities. For example, they can take Streetdance X-tra at PrizDanz Studio. This dance class is specifically designed for people with mental, physical, or multiple disabilities.
