Leeuwarden Run once again in action for the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture

On Sunday, May 15th, Loop Leeuwarden will take place. LOOP Leeuwarden is organized by the Healthy City Leeuwarden Foundation. The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Friesland is the charity we support for this event.

The partnership between Loop Leeuwarden and the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Friesland (Foundation for Healthy City Leeuwarden) was established because both organizations share several key goals. The Healthy City Leeuwarden Foundation wants to inspire as many people as possible, young and old, to participate in sports and exercise. This contributes to a healthy society. The Healthy City also wants to make Loop Leeuwarden accessible to everyone, especially children. Therefore, participation is free for them, and we naturally hope that it will lead to participation in more sports activities and perhaps registrations for sports clubs. But…

In the Netherlands, an average of two to three children per class grow up in families struggling financially. They can't participate in soccer, street dance, athletics, swimming, or music lessons. These children often play sports and play alone. The Youth Fund for Sport & Culture is trying to change this by making the membership fees or tuition available for these children and young people. Sports and play aren't something you do alone; they're something you do together. Every child deserves to participate! And that's where "The Healthy City" and the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture find common ground.

Participants in Loop Leeuwarden can register via www.loopleeuwarden.frl make a voluntary donation to the Youth Sports & Culture Fund. We also encourage participants to donate via the action page to start a campaign yourself to raise money for the Youth Fund.

Participants can raise additional funds for the Youth Sports & Culture Fund through the fundraising page. Will you help? Donate now or donate to the participants; start your own fundraising campaign and help us ensure all children can participate in sports and cultural events and activities in the future.

At the 2021 edition, participants and volunteers raised over €4,000. We hope to raise another substantial amount this year to enable many children to participate in sports and cultural activities.
