Johan Cruyff Foundation Open Day with culture

On Wednesday, September 23rd, our partner the Johan Cruyff Foundation held its Open Day. Activities took place throughout the day at 20 Cruyff Courts across the country. In Haarlem, Hilversum, and Roermond, children could not only play sports, but also dance, make music, and engage in creative activities.
Through the Cultuur@CruyffCourts project, a collaboration between the Johan Cruyff Foundation and our fund, cultural activities have become part of the Open Day. For the past 19 years, the Open Day has been held at the Olympic Stadium. This year, it was an Open Day on Tour, as COVID-19 restrictions prevented a large event from taking place at the Olympic Stadium. Sixty locations received fully equipped sports uniforms so that as many children as possible could move around in them.
Bucket drums, breakdance and dance
At the Cruyff Courts in Haarlem, Hilversum, and Roermond, children could showcase their creative skills. Triple Threat provided a Bucket Drums workshop in Haarlem. Bucket Drums is an urban version of traditional drumming. Children learned the basic principles of drumming on buckets. In Hilversum, choreography was developed, and in Roermond, children could show off their breakdance moves.
