Glenn Bijl (born 1995) is a professional footballer and plays as a defender for FC Emmen in the Eredivisie. "I've been playing football since I was four and have never played any other sport. Sports give me enormous satisfaction and joy. As an ambassador, I hope to contribute and raise awareness for the fund, so that everyone who wants to play sports can actually do so."
Being active
Glenn does what he loves, and that makes him feel good. For him, it's a nice bonus that he's been able to turn his hobby into his job. Glenn: "I think sports are important because they keep you active. That contributes to a healthy body and good motor skills. Sports are more rewarding. You meet other boys and girls, which can lead to new friendships. Many sports are played in teams, so you have to work together. This is very good for the social development of young children."

“Many children in the province of Drenthe are already helped by the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture, but I am sure that there are also many children and/or parents who do not yet know what we can do for them,” says Bijl.
