Choose your Art Houten: “More self-confidence through theater”

The Utrecht Youth Fund for Sports & Culture launched the fourth video of "Choose Your Art in Houten" today. The videos feature young people sharing their passion for art. 

A safe place to be yourself

In this fourth video, we see Elaya, 16. She's taking theater classes at the Aan de Slinger Youth Theater School in Houten. "Theater has given me self-confidence," says Elaya. "I want others to have the opportunity to be in theater too. It boosts your self-confidence, it's super fun, and it's a safe place to be yourself." Watch here is the video of Elaya.

Choose your art Houten

Choose Your Art Houten is a 10-part series of short videos created by Tushar Shangoer, commissioned by the Utrecht Youth Fund for Sports & Culture and in collaboration with the Houten Youth Pass for Sports & Culture and the Shine Houten Foundation. The videos aim to get more children and young people excited about art, with the message that tuition doesn't have to be a barrier.
