Benefit concert by the KOV choir for the Youth Fund
The KOV concert choir will perform a benefit concert on Sunday, March 22nd, to benefit the "Give Every Child Music" project of the Groningen Youth Fund for Sports and Culture. Proceeds will be used to fund music lessons or the rental of musical instruments to children in the province of Groningen whose parents cannot afford them. Admission is free, but the choir hopes that visitors will donate something to this wonderful project at the end of the concert.
Singing and playing music support the development of key skills, such as listening and reading, and stimulate emotional intelligence. It increases self-confidence and self-esteem, and fosters connection and friendship with other children. This allows a child to develop well socially, physically, motorically, and mentally. Making music together and listening to music strengthens the bond between children, and it's simply fun! That's why it's so important that all children can participate and have access to lessons, even if there's insufficient funding at home.
