Battles with Usain Bolt and Allianz Direct a great success

The Overvecht Athletics Track hosted the Bolt Battles on Tuesday, September 20th. This sporting event was organized by our partner Allianz Direct. The day was all about exercising together, raising awareness, and fundraising for the Youth Fund. None other than Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt came to the Netherlands especially for this. 

After the warm-up by Usain Bolt and Master Hidde, it was time for the highlight of the day: the 100 meter sprint against Usain Bolt.  

The youth teams were coached by Youth Fund ambassadors Remy Bonjasky, Nasser El Jackson, Sanne Wevers, and Tommy St. Jago. Dutch celebrities actress Noël van Kleef, rapper Dio, Stijn van Vliet, and Tim Senders of Streetlab also coached a team. In addition to a relay race for children, there were also three Battles: games focusing on teamwork, intelligence, and speed. Several adult teams also competed in various relay rounds. 

It was a day to remember forever. With plenty of press in attendance, several wonderful publications were released, including: NOS Sport, Fidelity, Telegraph, Runner's World and NPO Radio 1 Along the Line. 

After the awards ceremony, the check was presented by Usain Bolt and Ron Adams, Head of Marketing & Sales at Allianz Direct. A fantastic €35,952 has been raised for us so far!
