All children can participate in De Fryske Marren

In the Netherlands, an average of two to three children per class grow up in families facing financial hardship. They can't participate in soccer, street dance, judo, swimming, or music lessons. These children often play sports and play alone. The Youth Fund for Sport & Culture, the municipality of De Fryske Marren, and sports and cultural providers are raising awareness. With a banner distributed to 200 providers in Friesland, the collaborating parties are highlighting the opportunities offered by the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture.

Youth Fund Sports & Culture
The Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Friesland (Friesland Youth Fund for Sports & Culture) pays the membership fees and tuition for children and young people from families who lack the funds for a sports club, music or dance lessons, painting, drama school, or other creative courses. Participation is incredibly important for children. They learn to work together, deal with winning and losing, and make new friends. It's good for their self-confidence and concentration. And a child who feels good about themselves performs better! For these children, the Jeugdfonds pays the necessary membership fees, tuition, and any clothing they need.

Sam& for all children
The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Friesland and the municipality of De Fryske Marren collaborate more broadly with the Stichting Leergeld Zuidwest Friesland foundation under the name Sam& for all children. Parents and caregivers can also apply for educational, leisure, and birthday celebration services through this website. Applications can be submitted by both parents and caregivers via the website. www.samenvoorallekinderen.nl.

About the collaboration
Luciënne Boelsma, alderman of the municipality of De Fryske Marren: "Spitigernôch is as brave as we think. All Bern wants to move, to exercise and to have fun. Party Easter is very important for the development of Bern. It is therefore great that Sam and all his fun activities tagonclick easy.”

Coby van der Laan, chair of the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture Friesland: “The Youth Fund for Sport & Culture Friesland is eager to help. Every child is welcome to participate. And we believe finances should never be a problem: we simply foot the bill! That's why we're calling on parents, caregivers, and the social network around a child: take advantage of the support from our fund. Make sure the child can participate in sports or cultural activities. Think of the child, think of the opportunities available, and just make it happen!”

Jelle Wassenaar, chairman of vv Oudehaske: "As a football club, we believe it's important that everyone can participate, regardless of their financial situation. With the banner, we hope to raise awareness of this to everyone who comes to the sports park every week."
