Show your dance moves at Jeugdfonds Let's Dance! 

Dancing with peers, following the rhythm, and completely losing yourself in the music: dancing doesn't just let you move, it lets you feel! For many children and young people, dancing is a passion and an outlet. But not all children have the opportunity to take dance lessons, for example, because money is limited at home. That's why we now have the Youth Fund Let's Dance!  

Dance floors throughout the country

The Youth Fund Let's Dance gives children the opportunity to express themselves in a safe place in their neighborhood, under the guidance of a professional dance instructor, on a local square. In 2024, over 650 children participated in five neighborhoods across the Netherlands. 

From trial lessons to membership

With this nationwide project, the Youth Fund aims to encourage children and young people to dance and get back outdoors. In 2024, several free trial lessons were offered in Amsterdam, Breda, Groningen, Utrecht, and Schiedam, among other places, under the guidance of professional dance instructors. These lessons ranged from street dance and hip-hop to urban dance. If participants are still enthusiastic after a series of trial lessons, they can purchase a membership through their dance instructor and with the help of the Youth Fund.   

Petra Pluimers, co-organizer: "By offering dance activities in neighborhoods, we're creating innovative opportunities for an underserved target group, in this case girls. It's essential to continue to pay sufficient attention to this, and I hope these activities can contribute to greater equality in exercise opportunities for every target group!"
