We take work off your hands!
Poverty policy is a challenge for every municipality. Budget cuts and decentralization make it especially difficult to ensure that all children have the same opportunities. To prevent divisions and equip children with skills that will benefit them later in life, it's crucial that the growing group of children and young people from low-income families can (continue to) participate. The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture uses a proven method to ensure that all children and young people can participate.
The Netherlands is one of the richest countries in the world. Yet, 272,000 children grow up (source: Poverty Mapping 2019, SCP) grow up in a family living on a subsistence level. This means there's no money at home for sports clubs and creative activities. As a result, children miss out on all sorts of opportunities that other children their age take for granted. Playing sports or engaging in creative activities helps a child develop physically, mentally, and socially. This is important not only for the child's development and future, but also for the family and ultimately for society as a whole. Thanks to the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture, children and young people from low-income families can participate in sports or develop their creative skills.
Connect your community to us!
The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture is a national network of municipal and provincial funds, supported by a national office. The process is simple, fast, and bureaucratic. This network of funds operates throughout the country. Larger municipalities usually have their own independent fund, while smaller municipalities can join a provincial fund. Would you and your municipality like to join us? We'll work together to find the best way to make the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture accessible to every municipality.
Does your municipality already have its own program for low-income earners? We can be a valuable addition—or even a replacement: we take the work off your hands and, thanks to our public-private partnership, can help more children and young people, even those not covered by minimum income programs. Moreover, our expertise and experience allow us to provide customized solutions.
In 2022, we collaborated with over 230 municipalities. This number is constantly growing. Are you considering joining us with your municipality? It's easy. Contact the fund coordinator in your province or the national office: call 020-6957848 or email us at info@jeugdfondssportencultuur.nl.
Sam&: together for all children
Sam& for all children is a partnership between Leergeld Nederland, Stichting Jarige Job, Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp (National Child Support Fund), and Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur (Youth Fund for Sports and Culture). Together, these funds are committed to supporting children growing up in families with limited financial resources. We do this by offering a variety of services in areas such as education, sports, culture, birthday celebrations, and leisure time. Sam& provides a single digital platform where parents and intermediaries (such as teachers, debt counselors, general practitioners, or neighborhood teams) can easily apply for multiple services for children growing up in families with limited financial resources. Every year, Sam& helps many children with education, sports, culture, birthday celebrations, and recreation. Thanks to the additional resources and collaborations with even more municipalities, we can reach many more children. Visit the Sam& website: www.samenvoorallekinderen.nl.
