Structural access to culture and sports

Hugo Peek, CEO and Country Head BNP Paribas Netherlands: “Promoting integration in our workplace and society is central to our core values and objectives at BNP Paribas. For this reason—and as a sports enthusiast myself—I am very proud that we will be partnering with Jeugdfonds Sport for the next three years.  & Culture and to help them realize their mission: to enable participation in sports and culture for underprivileged children throughout the Netherlands.”

With the support of BNP Paribas, we organize various initiatives that provide easy access to music, theater, and dance lessons, and sports clubs. This way, children don't just get a one-time introduction to a sport or instrument, but also develop their skills in a structured way.

From hip hop to theatre and football

The collaboration with BNP Paribas has included several components in recent years. The three most important are listed below:

  • 2024 | Thanks in part to the support of BNP Paribas, we launched the "Jeugdfonds Let's Dance" pilot program in the summer of 2024. Many children growing up in poverty want to dance but lack the financial resources or access to a local dance school. That's why the Jeugdfonds Let's Dance is reaching out to these children! Together with local dance schools and professional dance teachers, we organized free lessons in neighborhood squares last summer. For six weeks, participating children worked two hours a week toward a spectacular final performance. This allowed them to experiment with different dance styles and receive a boost to further develop their talent.
  • 2020-2022 Freestyle footballer and artist Nasser El Jackson founded the "El Jackson Education" program. A unique 40-week educational program that uses football, dance, and theater to help young people discover their talents and interests in a respectful and safe environment. Nasser: In this program, we bring young people from the streets to the stage. These are young people from diverse backgrounds and without stable home situations. With us, they build incredibly strong connections and discover themselves. The Youth Fund has supported this programme for over three years, with the support of BNP Paribas, among others.
  • Ongoing Since the start of our partnership in 2018, BNP Paribas has contributed to the tuition and membership fees of children from low-income families. Together, we make it possible for children to participate regularly in cultural and sports activities and to continue to discover and develop their talents.
