Changing of the guard at the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture Hengelo Borne

After an inspiring period of leadership since its founding in 2008, the Hengelo Borne Youth Fund for Sports and Culture has bid farewell to its chairman and co-founder, Harry Rupert. From the outset, Harry has passionately and tirelessly pursued the fund's mission: no child left out. Under his chairmanship, the fund has given many children the opportunity to participate in sports and cultural activities, regardless of their financial background..

A new chapter begins

At the start of the new year, on January 1, 2024, Ton Tammerveld took over from Harry Rupert as the new chairman of the Youth Fund. This handover marks a new chapter for the fund, with the promise of continuing the important work begun under Harry's leadership.

A worthy farewell

The farewell ceremony for Harry Rupert and Jacqueline Velding, who has been the fund's secretarial services on behalf of Wijkracht Hengelo since July 2022, took place at "Het Wapen van Hengelo." The entire board gathered to show respect and appreciation for the tireless efforts and contributions of both key figures. Two former board members also attended. Jacqueline and Harry were both thanked for their service with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Recognition and gratitude

Harry Rupert was surprised with a beautiful artwork, created by Hengelo-based wood artist Semra Heydari, in recognition of his creative and innovative contribution to the fund. Jacqueline Velding received a beautiful bottle of red wine, symbolizing the warmth and strength she brought to the team.

Looking ahead

This changing of the guard is a moment to reflect on what has been achieved and to look ahead to future possibilities. Under the leadership of Ton Tammerveld, the Hengelo Borne Youth Fund for Sports and Culture will continue to strive to reach more children, giving them the opportunity to pursue their athletic and cultural dreams.

In the interest of the community in Hengelo and Borne

The departure of Harry Rupert and Jacqueline Velding marks both an end and a new beginning. The Youth Fund for Sports and Culture Hengelo Borne remains committed to its mission, supported by the strong foundation laid by Harry Rupert. The adventure continues, with renewed energy and a continued passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
