Nice donation from football club RKDVC

In the dark days before Christmas, we received a generous donation from the Drunen football club RKDVC. Their first Christmas auction raised €23,680, of which €3,680 was donated to the Brabant Youth Fund for Sports and Culture. On the evening of the auction itself, Friday, December 15th, the total was €2,680 (see photo). A day later, another lot was sold for €1,000, which was also donated to the Youth Fund.

A hot air balloon ride, jars of applesauce, a padel racket, framed shirts from PSV and Ronald Koeman, among others, a beer tasting, concert tickets, or a live performance by singer Geert van Delft. Auctioneer Jaap Meiland – who received assistance from Youth Mayor Kick Kiefmeijer on the first lot – auctioned a diverse selection of over 150 lots.

Initiator Timo Vogels: “We are incredibly proud of the result achieved. We've worked incredibly hard with a broad committee over the past few months to secure plots and create a full canteen. We couldn't have imagined this result beforehand.” Teammate Sander Rodenburg formed a partnership with Timo from the start: “We've been in daily contact over the past few months. The strength of our association has once again proven itself. Help, good ideas, and plots of land have come from everywhere. From volunteers to sponsors and from members to committee members. A fantastic journey.”

Through the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture, approximately 25 children currently play football at RKDVC, whose parents unfortunately cannot afford the membership fee. With the proceeds, the Youth Fund can help approximately fifteen additional children in the municipality of Heusden experience the positive impact of sports.
