The Gelderland Youth Fund for Sports & Culture is looking for a treasurer

The Gelderland Youth Fund for Sports and Culture is committed to making sports and cultural activities accessible to all children and young people. We do this for all children and young people who face financial barriers to participating in these activities. We do this in consultation with the Gelderland municipalities where these children and young people live.

The Youth Fund is a foundation. We achieve our objectives through provincial contributions, sponsorships, incidental national funding, and municipal contributions. This enabled us to help over 2,500 children and young people in 2020.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Treasurer for our board, which currently consists of five people. Being the treasurer of our foundation is a significant task, so the responsibilities are being divided between the two.^th treasurer.

The management tasks

• Ensure that the financial administrative processes are set up in line with national guidelines and processes
• Taking care of the annual financial reporting (determining annual figures)
• Drawing up the budget based on the substantive annual plan
• Monitoring and complying with the financial frameworks of the Youth Fund's financial guidelines;
• Drawing up (in collaboration with the fundraising/sponsorship/communication coordinator and board member) an annual plan to broaden fundraising and develop actions aimed at improving the financial position

Control taken

• Identifying deviations in the budget and making adjustments where necessary
• Maintain contact with the financial administration of the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Netherlands
• Drawing up the (financial) annual report in collaboration with the secretary
• Presenting the latest state of affairs at board meetings
• Advising on the use of own resources/financial strategy
• Attending the national treasurer meeting

Tasks in the field of financial management

• Responsible for (in collaboration with coordinator) subsidy applications, subsidy accountability and interim reporting to the province and municipalities
• Budget management (including applications, administration, and accountability) of all budget items, donations, campaigns, and (additional) national subsidies in consultation with the board.
• Checking and making payable bi-weekly applications and other invoices
• Coordinating with the back office regarding special requests, questions from intermediaries and sports clubs/cultural providers
• Prepare invoices for municipalities and coordinate credit notes for municipalities together with the back office
• Coordinating with the back office on monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the board and municipalities

Finally

We are looking for a Treasurer who:

• Someone who can spend an average of 6 – 8 hours per week on these tasks
• Someone who wholeheartedly supports the goals of the Youth Fund and is willing to take on these tasks with humor and patience
• Someone who demonstrably has financial and numerical insight
