Temporary additional financial options for children with disabilities

The Gelderland Youth Fund for Sport & Culture has been granted the opportunity to temporarily increase the contribution for children with disabilities through the national subsidy "Alle kinderen doen deel" (AKDM). This is valid until December 2020 and is a national budget used alongside municipal budgets.

The standard maximum reimbursement per child for participating in sports and cultural activities is often insufficient for children with disabilities. For example, they may require additional supervision or adapted materials. The Gelderland Youth Fund for Sports and Culture believes it's important that all children, with and without disabilities, can participate.

Reimbursement is provided in accordance with the guidelines of the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture. We reimburse the provider or supplier of the sports/cultural activity directly and only for actual costs incurred. The rules for each municipality describe the guidelines that also apply to children with disabilities.

Here are the most important points of attention:
• The child lives in a municipality within the province of Gelderland.
• The application can only be made via a digital form on the website www.allekinderendoenmee.nl.
• Only recognized intermediaries can submit an application.
• A recognised intermediary must motivate the application by providing general information about the financial situation of the parents.
• When submitting, select the 'KDM scheme' option under special arrangements
• The application is for one year. Children do not automatically continue participating in sports or cultural activities.
• No retroactive reimbursement will be made.
• The maximum amount that can be requested is €750.
