All children participate in Noardeast-Fryslân and Dantumadiel!

On Wednesday morning, November 6th, the renewed partnership agreement for the "Kindpakket" (Child Package) was signed at the town hall in Damwâld. This agreement is valid for four years. The Youth Sports Fund is delighted that all children in the municipalities of Dantumadiel and Noardeast-Fryslân will be able to participate in sports in the coming years!

Joint initiative
The Child Package is a joint initiative of the Friesland Youth Culture Fund Foundation, the Friesland East Learning Fund Foundation, and the Friesland Youth Culture Fund Foundation. Parents and intermediaries can submit applications through a single portal at www.kindpakket.nl.
The municipalities of Dantumadiel and Noardeast-Fryslân have been subsidizing these foundations for several years and have now signed a new covenant for the next four years. By signing this covenant, the municipalities aim to prevent children growing up in low-income families from being excluded. Participation in sports, culture, and indoor and extracurricular activities should be accessible to all children in Dantumadiel and Noardeast-Fryslân.

One in 12 children lives in poverty
It's important for children to be able to participate in sports, music lessons, celebrate a birthday, or go on a school trip. Unfortunately, this isn't possible for all children. In the Netherlands, 1 in 12 children lives in poverty. For financial reasons, these children can't participate in activities that are commonplace for their peers. They are often literally on the sidelines.
