Youth Fund Waalwijk launched C@CC page

Waalwijk launched C@CC | September 5, 2019

Waalwijk started with C@CC

The Waalwijk Arts Centre was one of the organizers of the Cultuur@CruyffCourts project in Waalwijk. Wednesday, September 4th, was the first of five afternoons where children up to 15 can enjoy sports and creative and cultural activities. Graffiti, freestyle football, urban dance, and kickboxing: it's all there. Around eighty children participated on Wednesday on the field on Van Merwedelaan. Street footballer and world champion ground mover Nasser el Jackson showed off his skills for inspiration.

Cultuur@CruyffCourts is a national collaboration between the Johan Cruyff Foundation and the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture. In Waalwijk, the activities are organized by community sports coach Erdem Altin, also a certified Cruyff Foundation coach, and by the Waalwijk Arts Centre, supported by GO Waalwijk.

Erdem Altin explains: “With Cultuur@Cruyff, we want to give children and young people access to sports and culture close to home. On five Wednesday afternoons (through Wednesday, October 9th), children can try out all kinds of sports and creative activities at the Cruyff Court on Van der Merwedelaan (next to the RKC stadium) between 1:30 and 4:30 PM. Thanks to our partnership with Kunstencentrum Waalwijk, we're offering a fantastic program. There's football, of course, but also kickboxing, urban dance, graffiti, music & play, and more. Kids can also sign up to attend the Cruyff Foundation open house in Amsterdam on Wednesday afternoon, September 18th. They can also participate in all kinds of fun workshops there.”
