Many children fell behind on their swimming lessons due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, or hadn't even started at all. That's why we launched our project "All children a swimming diploma!" last year. In the Netherlands, a country rich in water, it's crucial that every child has access to swimming lessons and learns to swim safely.

Our goal was to ensure that every child can learn to swim safely. We seem to have succeeded:In 2022, we were able to help 967 children in the province of North Holland take swimming lessons! Compared to the coronavirus years, we saw an increase in swimming lesson requests of 83% compared to 2021 and 117% compared to 2020!

Besides helping more children take swimming lessons, the project also allowed us to offer much more customized services to no fewer than 335 children. This often proves necessary, especially within our target group. Consider children from other cultures where fear of water is more common. There is a language barrier with parents, which makes the swimming lesson process less smooth and requires special attention. Special attention is also needed for children with disabilities, for example. Thanks to the project, we were able to help them as well. The swimming courses for obtaining a swimming diploma are often more expensive for children.Children who require extra time and attention. These more expensive programs are not covered by municipal subsidies.

With this we can conclude that our project has been very successful! This is also thethe reason that we are currently in the process of applying for funding so that the project can This year, there could be a follow-up. In the Netherlands, a country rich in water, it's crucial that every child has access to swimming lessons and learns to swim safely.

Our goal was to ensure that every child can learn to swim safely.
