Culture@CruyffCourts

The Youth Fund Sport & Culture Almere has been selected as one of 14 national funds to make Cultuur@CruyffCourts a resounding success! In Almere, the Cultuur@CruyffCourts program will take place at the Clarence Seedorf playground. Thanks to a unique partnership with the Johan Cruyff Foundation, cultural and creative activities will now be organized at the Cruyff Courts for eight weeks. The Cultuur@CruyffCourts project connects sports and culture, allowing even more children to enjoy the Cruyff Courts.

Hotspots in the neighborhood

Cultuur@CruyffCourts creates neighborhood hotspots where the power of sports and culture is optimally utilized. Children who, for financial reasons, cannot join a sports club or, for example, a dance or music school, can indulge themselves on the courts. Whether it's football or vlogging, tennis or rap, the Cruyff Courts offer children and young people the opportunity to discover what they love. The courts are a safe meeting place where children experience solidarity, make friends, discover their own talents, and learn to cope with winning and losing. The project is therefore valuable for the children's physical and mental development. This is beneficial not only for the child, but also for the family, the school, the neighborhood, and ultimately society as a whole.

How does Cultuur@CruffCourts work?

Many parents, children, and young people consider culture abstract and far-fetched. By demonstrating at the Cruyff Courts that rap, DJing, dancing, and vlogging are also cultural activities, the cultural offerings become tangible and accessible. Through Cultuur@CruyffCourts, (disadvantaged) children and young people aged 8 to 15 can discover all kinds of cultural activities. This also lowers the barrier to regular participation with local cultural providers. And if there's no money at home for lessons, the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture will pay for it!

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Friends Lottery, the Cultural Participation Fund, LKCA, and Iktoon, we can launch Cultuur@CruyffCourts together with the Cruyff Foundation. We are thrilled with these wonderful contributions!
