Youth Fund Let's Dance

Dancing together, following the rhythm, and completely losing yourself in the music: dancing doesn't just let you move, it lets you feel! For many children and young people, dancing is a passion and an outlet. But not every child has the opportunity to dance with friends at a dance school. That's why we're organizing free dance lessons at five Urban Dance Grounds: Jeugdfonds Let's Dance! 

There are no fewer than 23 Urban Dance Grounds throughout the Netherlands: a dance floor in a public space with a speaker, allowing everyone to dance to their favorite music. These squares are located in neighborhoods, close to children and young people. But not everyone knows about these dance spots or uses them yet. 

With this project, we want to encourage girls in particular to dance in the squares. In Groningen, Amsterdam, Breda, Utrecht, and Schiedam, several free trial lessons will be offered for several weeks, supervised by professional dance instructors. In Groningen, this will be under the inspiring leadership of Milou and Jayliana of Dance Division Dijkmansport.
