As of July 1, 2025, the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture Friesland will see a change in its chairmanship. After a seven-year term, Coby van der Laan will hand over the chairmanship to Willem Wouda.
Under Coby van der Laan's chairmanship, the fund has undergone significant development. Driven by her personal commitment to the cause, she has been a strong advocate for the organization. "All children should be able to participate," says Van der Laan. "From personal experience, I know that participating in sports and cultural activities is both fun and important. The skills you acquire through these activities form a solid foundation for your personal development. As chairman, I, along with all the other board members, have dedicated myself wholeheartedly to offering as many children as possible the opportunity to participate in sports and cultural activities, such as football, judo, or music lessons, even if their families don't have enough money."
The board is delighted to welcome Willem Wouda as the new chairman. Wouda has a strong affinity with the fund's mission: "Initiatives like the Youth Sports & Culture Fund make a vital contribution and make a difference for many children," he wrote in his motivation letter. Willem Wouda is an experienced (education) administrator and works as a director/manager at TIKO Vandaag Childcare.
The Youth Fund for Sports and Culture in Friesland is grateful to Coby van der Laan for her years of dedication and commitment. With the appointment of Willem Wouda, the fund looks to the future with confidence.
