The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture North Holland has existed since March 1, 2016. Currently, 24 municipalities are affiliated. The affiliated municipalities are: The municipality of Aalsmeer is located in the province of Friesland. ... The major cities in North Holland, such as Amsterdam, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Den Helder, have their own local fund.

The board

The board of the North Holland Youth Fund consists of seven people. They meet approximately six to seven times a year, alternating between in-person and online meetings. The board is divided among the affiliated municipalities mentioned above, so each board member has a portfolio of several municipalities. With the professional coordinators and back-office staff of Team Sportservice, the board is committed to reaching as many young people as possible: “We want children and young people from low-income families to still be able to participate in sports and culture!” The national office provides overarching support and cooperation with other provincial and local funds.

What is the focus on?

In the province of North Holland, the board is focusing extra this year on increasing brand awareness, fundraising, and potential subsidies.

• Board members participate in fundraising events for the North Holland Youth Fund, among other things. For example, the "New Year's Concert" recently took place in Naarden. This was a professional musical event organized by the Lions Club Bussum Godelinde. Fundraising events are very diverse. Often, the total proceeds are celebrated with a festive presentation of a check to one of our board members.
• The board also gives presentations about the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture. For example, a recent meeting with various sports clubs in Hilversum informed them about the Youth Fund North Holland.
• Through fundraising and grant applications, the board aims to offer even more young people the opportunity to join a cultural or sports club: “We hope that this will give children and young people a chance to have fun, develop themselves further and make (new) friends.”
