Sligro Leeuwarden donates ten thousand euros to the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture
On the occasion of the reopening of Sligro in Leeuwarden
The fully renovated Sligro store in Leeuwarden reopened on Friday, September 22nd. Angélique Schmeinck (24Kitchen), hospitality entrepreneur Jacquelina Dijkstra (grand café De Dikke van Dale), Henk de Jong (Youth Fund Sport & Culture Friesland), Bauke de Vries (Sligro Leeuwarden branch director), and Kees Kiestra (director of Sligro self-service wholesalers) jointly performed the official opening ceremony.
Donation of €10,000 to the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Friesland
To mark the reopening, Sligro made a donation to an important social cause in the region. Henk de Jong, ambassador for the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture in Friesland, received a check for €10,000 from Bauke de Vries.
Participating in organized sports and cultural activities is crucial for a child's healthy physical and social development. But not all parents have enough money to let their child join a sports or cultural club. The Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Friesland (Friesland Youth Sports & Culture Fund) makes it possible for children to participate! And Sligro wholeheartedly supports this!
Completely renovated and made more sustainable
Bauke de Vries: "The complete renovation of our wholesale business was a huge undertaking, as we continued to operate as usual and tried to minimize disruption to our customers. However, it was a bit of an obstacle course at times, and we thank our customers for their understanding and patience. From now on, we'll be back to business as usual!"
