Current status of number of applications
We'd like to update you on the number of approved applications up to the end of October. Last year, there were 1,809, and this year there are 2,070. That's an increase of 261 approved applications! We'd like to thank all intermediaries and sports and cultural providers for making this happen together. We're looking forward to even more applications, as 8,000 Almere children live in poverty and need us to participate in sports, swimming, or cultural activities!
Explanation of the Simply Possible process for intermediaries
Via www.kieseenclub.nl and the Youth Fund check Parents or guardians first check whether they are eligible for the Youth Fund. Parents or guardians can then complete an online application form. The Youth Fund then connects the application to a suitable intermediary from the school or local community. If we select you as an intermediary, you will receive an email notifying you that an application has been linked to you. You can find this application at www.allekinderendoenmee.nl If you're logged in. On the homepage, you'll see "Parent Applications" in the menu on the left. Click on this to find the form completed by the parent. Then, contact the parent and review/assess the application. If they agree, complete the application and submit it. Need help with this? Please contact us at almere@jeugdfondssportencultuur.nl or 036-7601565!
Victims of the childcare allowance scandal (KOTA)
Reminder for the intermediary: We need more information for an application from affected parents. When submitting an application, you must make a note if it concerns parents affected by the childcare allowance affair (for example, if the application concerns a KOTA victim). Of course, these parents must also our rules meet their income requirements. You can indicate this in the application form. This way, we gain more insight into which families need assistance from the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture.
We warmly welcome our new providers in Q4 2024!
New sports provider: Djalma Health Center (in Almere Buiten).
New cultural provider: Irina Bogdanova (piano teacher at CKV Almere).

Did you know that…
- Do dance applications need to be submitted via the "culture" route? We still regularly receive these as sports applications.
- Some teachers or sports or cultural providers include the Youth Fund in their signature to promote the fund?
- An intermediary from November 26th will be called Meerkracht and will this change in all our communications?
- We've created new swimming flyers in Dutch, Arabic, and English to explain to parents and caregivers, among others, that they need to register their child at the pool.
- Did you know that Aziz Hitti (who works at Het Samenspel primary school) helped us translate the Arabic flyer? We'd like to thank him again!
- There a new toolkit 'Simply possible' Is it available? Download it and help us reach parents!
- We'll be collecting secondhand sportswear and supplies from schools the week before Christmas. Would your school like to participate? Please contact us. almere@jeugdfondssportencultuur.nl.
- As a provider, you can do something extra to retain the children who are connected to your club through the fund, for example by:
- To inform parents when their children's application expires so that they can make a repeat application.
- Advise parents to submit an additional application When I grow up or Special Needs Fund if the available amount of an approved Youth Fund application does not cover the full tuition fee.
- To direct parents to submit an application to When I grow up or Special Needs Fund if the children need sports clothes or equipment.
Name change from Intermediair to Meerkracht
Starting Tuesday, November 26, intermediaries (professionals who submit applications to the Youth Fund on behalf of children) will be called Meerkracht (More Power). A Meerkracht is a teacher, youth care worker, community sports coach, general practitioner, guardian, or social worker. A Meerkracht is involved in the child's upbringing, guidance, or education and is aware of the family's financial situation. A Meerkracht can apply to the Youth Fund and thereby give the child more self-confidence, enjoyment, creativity, and above all, more strength to participate. Someone who does this earns the honorary title: Jeugdfonds Meerkracht (Youth Fund More Power). Hence the name change.
