Summer holidays are coming!
With the summer holidays upon us, our organization has time to thoroughly review the past year. We're finding that we're increasingly needed, with a multitude of diverse questions. It's not just about processing applications but also providing information to parents who contact us with questions. Referrals to other funds within the municipality are also an important task for us. We're pleased that parents and community partners are finding their way to us.
The applications for the 2025/2026 season are pouring in, and we're thrilled! Your help as a Meerkracht (More Power) member is still needed to raise awareness of the fund among parents. Will you also submit all the season applications, starting in September, or other locations, before the summer holidays? You can do this by converting the current approved application into a repeat application for 2025-2026, provided the children want to continue with the activity and the parents' financial situation remains unchanged. Thank you in advance!
During the summer, we're available on weekdays for all your questions and requests. We wish you a wonderful summer holiday!
Jörgen Raymann is our new ambassador!
We already have several top ambassadors, namely our sports ambassadors Remy Bonjasky, Gün Kara, Lia de Graaf, and Asia Dalfour, and our culture ambassadors Sharon Doorson, Bianca Busscher, and Aicheline Everts. As of Saturday, June 21st, we've added Jörgen Raymann to this list! On this day, Jörgen officially opened the Kids Culture Tasting at the Nieuwe Bibliotheek (New Library) in Almere Stad. During the opening, Jörgen explained why participating in a cultural activity is so important for a child. Throughout the event, parents and children could learn about the cultural offerings in Almere at the information market. Children participated in a free dance, music, or creative workshop. During the opening, Jörgen Raymann also announced his new ambassadorship for the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Almere (Almere Youth Fund for Sports & Culture). The Jeugdfonds and Jörgen share many similarities, making this collaboration a logical step. These include their love for the city of Almere, youth, culture, and promoting inclusion and diversity. Like the Jeugdfonds Almere, Jörgen believes it's important that all children can participate in sports, swimming, or cultural activities. For these reasons, he feels connected to the foundation and has become an ambassador. Want to know more about our ambassadors? Visit our website. jeugdfondssportencultuur.nl/almere!
Digidoor
Many schools use Digidoor to facilitate transfers for a Year 8 student moving on to secondary school. We are pleased to announce that the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture has recently been included in the Digidoor form. This allows Year 8 teachers to record which children currently have an application with the Youth Fund. Secondary school teachers will also be aware that a repeat application must be submitted when the application expires. The new Meerkracht (More Power) system will then reassess whether the family's financial situation meets our rules. The Youth Fund has noticed that some children's repeat applications are submitted late or not submitted at all when they transition to secondary school, even though they are still participating in the activity. It would help us and the children if you included this information in your transfer request.
