More than 2,600 children participate in sports through the Youth Sports Fund in 2019

In Friesland, 1 in 11 children grows up in poverty. The Friesland Youth Sports Fund provides sports opportunities to children and young people from families who cannot participate in sports for financial reasons. In 2019, 2,611 children were able to start playing sports thanks to the Friesland Youth Sports Fund.

11,600 Children need financial support
The Friesland Youth Sports Fund aims to reach all 11,600 children in Friesland who are unable to participate in sports for financial reasons. The Friesland Youth Sports Fund reimburses these children's membership fees and provides them with the necessary clothing and sports equipment. All children should have access to sports. In 2019, 15 municipalities in Friesland made funds available. This allows the Friesland Youth Sports Fund to help more and more children in Friesland.

The Friesland Youth Sports Fund, along with the Friesland Youth Culture Fund, the four Leergeld foundations in Friesland, the Jarige Job Foundation, and the National Children's Aid Fund, is a provincial partner in the Child Package. We are also affiliated with Sam& for all children. Sam& for all children is a national partnership between the national foundations of these organizations, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. Who are our intermediaries?
The Jeugdfonds Sport Friesland supports all sports applications for children and young people in Friesland: from gymnastics, football, korfball, to judo. Applications for clothing or membership reimbursement can only be submitted by recognized intermediaries such as the Stichting Leergeld (Foundation for Learning Fund), neighborhood sports coaches, classroom teachers, social workers, neighborhood team members, or youth care providers. The Jeugdfonds Sport Friesland can always use more enthusiastic intermediaries to reach all children. Intermediaries can register via www.allekinderendoenmee.nl.
