World street football champion Nasser El Jackson plays at IKC Erasmus primary school
While the Tilburg native may have become world-famous for his inimitable tricks with the ball, he wants to achieve more than that. The street footballer is an ambassador for the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture. The fund pays the membership fees and tuition for children growing up in poverty. These families can barely afford the costs of their offspring's hobbies and passions.
To inspire
El Jackson himself is happy to be able to do this. He learned football on the streets, of course, and has now made it his mission to challenge and inspire children, using the ball as a tool. The fact that he's a two-time world champion is irrelevant. "I don't want to be seen that way. What I do now is much more important to me. I want to let children enjoy themselves and inspire them through sports and culture."
The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture
Not all low-income parents are aware of the opportunities offered by the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture. The municipality, the Youth Fund, and Stroomopwaarts want to change that. If there's no money at home for sports or cultural lessons, the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture can help.
