From now on swimming lessons in Alkmaar are also reimbursed

Is your child already taking swimming lessons? Swimming isn't just fun, it's also vital in a country full of water. Would you like your son or daughter to take swimming lessons, but don't have the money to pay for them? We can help!

How does this work?

Applications for swimming lessons can be submitted through an intermediary. This could be a teacher, community sports coach, debt counselor, or employee of a neighborhood social team. Stichting Leergeld Alkmaar can also process the application.

An application can be submitted if:

• the parents have an income of a maximum of 120% of the social assistance standard
• the child takes swimming lessons at De Hout or Hoornse Vaart swimming pool
• the child (almost) can start swimming lessons (and is therefore at the top of the waiting list)
• The child does not yet have an A diploma
• the child is between 5 and 8 years old
• We pay for swimming lessons directly at the pool. You don't receive any money yourself.
