Figures & Facts 2023

In 2023, the Limburg Youth Fund for Sports and Culture helped no fewer than 6,445 children participate in sports and cultural activities. This represents a significant increase of 17% compared to 2022. We also saw that we reached more children in 2023 than in the pre-COVID years. Our partner fund in Venlo also helped 762 unique children.

The number of children growing up in families with financial worries is rising. This increase is due to inflation and rising energy costs. Everything is becoming more expensive, including the cost of participating in sports and cultural activities. Financial worries have significant and often long-lasting consequences for children's development. Through our financial support, we make it possible for every child to participate and have equal opportunities.

Last year it was 1^th The year of the merged Youth Fund for Sports & Culture. We joined forces to launch fantastic campaigns to raise awareness among even more people about the growing poverty and the fact that we can offer children growing up with financial difficulties a chance.

We launched the "Choose a Club" campaign. This campaign highlighted that the Limburg Youth Fund for Sports and Culture pays membership fees for families who can't afford them themselves. The Youth Fund for Sports and Culture already helps many children in Limburg, but unfortunately, there are still many children we don't help. To reach these children, we enlisted the help of sports and culture providers in Limburg. Over 550 sports and culture providers took advantage of our free promotional materials. We continue to receive requests daily through the "Choose a Club" campaign, and our promotional materials are prominently displayed at and on the clubs.

Another campaign we launched in 2023 was the Intermediaries Campaign. We recruited new intermediaries by asking existing ones to promote the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture within their organization and among colleagues. We also contacted potential intermediaries, asking them to become intermediaries. The more intermediaries, the more children we reach. Because together we can make a difference!
