Farewell to board member Joke Wiggerink

Last meeting
After eight years as a board member of the Drenthe Youth Fund for Sport & Culture, Joke Wiggerink has stepped down. We greatly appreciated her involvement and dedication to the fund. Joke is a sociable person with a deep passion for our target group. "It's strange to think that this is my last meeting. I've thoroughly enjoyed being part of an enthusiastic board that all shares the same goal. All children participate! Our shared efforts have ensured that we've achieved a much greater reach since my arrival, both in terms of applications and awareness. My role ends here, but the fund will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will mention it or refer to it whenever possible," says Joke.
New board member
After Joke's departure, there is now room for a new board member.
The Youth Sports & Culture Fund enables children and young people from low-income families to participate in football, music lessons, gymnastics, street dance, judo, theater classes, or other sporting or creative activities. We cover the membership fees/tuition fees for these children and young people, and in some cases, supplies such as football kits or dance shoes.
Children who can't participate don't get the opportunities their peers take for granted. Participating in sports or cultural activities helps a child develop optimally physically, mentally, and socially. This is important for the child's development and future, but also for the family and ultimately for society as a whole.
In 2023, the Drenthe Youth Fund for Sports & Culture involved 3,687 children and young people.
Are you that dedicated individual with a broad network in Drenthe, a genuine concern for others/our target group, perhaps an HR background, and the time to volunteer for our fund as a board member? We'd love to hear from you. You can find information on our website, as well as an email address for questions or to request an introductory meeting.
