Facts and figures 2023
The Groningen Youth Fund for Sports and Culture enables children and young people from low-income families to participate in sports and cultural activities. We cover the membership fees/tuition and any necessary equipment. Participating in sports and cultural activities helps a child develop optimally physically, mentally, and socially. This is important for the child's development and future, but also for the family and ultimately for society as a whole. We saw a growing number of families requesting help, partly due to inflation and the energy crisis. In 2023, we were able to help 4,018 children and young people participate in sports and cultural activities this way. We received almost 800 more applications in 2023 than the previous year.
