Effect of pilot abandoning the maximum amount for 2022 | December 15, 2022

Effect of pilot release of maximum amount 2022

In May of this year, we launched a pilot program where we waived the maximum amount that could be applied for. Each child could apply for the amount needed to participate in their sports or cultural activity for a year. Now that the pilot program is drawing to a close, it's time to analyze the effects and decide on the way forward. Below are some conclusions:

  • Intermediaries: The abolition of the maximum amount is seen as very positive by intermediaries. They Now you no longer have to worry about how to top up the remaining amount.
  • Providers: They are also very positive about the pilot. Providers No longer need to send invoices to two parties or chase parents for the remaining balance. They have the assurance that their costs will be covered.
  • Customisation: There is more room for customisation.
  • Reach: By removing many barriers, it becomes easier for intermediaries, providers, and the target group itself, allowing us to help more children more easily. So, in principle, our reach increases.
  • Youth: Previously, membership fees were often insufficient, especially for young people. Thanks to the pilot program, young people can now participate without financial barriers.

So, removing the maximum amount has many positive effects. But is there a downside? Of course: it costs more money to maintain this policy. We are therefore in discussions with all participating municipalities about this. We are discussing whether the benefits outweigh the costs. Of course, the additional budget required must also be available. The goal is to have agreements with each municipality before the new year regarding the future for 2023. You will be informed about this at a later date.
