Collaboration with the Dutch Judo Association (JBN)

Starting January 1, 2022, every child who participates in judo through us will be registered as a member of the Dutch Judo Association (JBN). This way, we cover the membership fees for children who participate in JBN-affiliated clubs, as well as for children who participate in non-affiliated clubs. Our intermediaries no longer need to include the JBN membership fee in the application. Registration is handled centrally through the national office.

Director Monique Maks is very pleased with the collaboration: "Judo clubs and intermediaries no longer have to do anything to get a child to become a JBN member. With this improvement, we relieve the burden on all parties involved, and the children benefit from the advantages of JBN membership."

With a JBN membership:

  • Can a child participate in competitions;
  • Become obtained judo belts registered and recognized with an official diploma;
  • Traps parent/child under a secondary liability insurance and supplementary accident insurance;
  • Gets a child's own JBN passport to keep track of results;
  • Receives the family the JBN Magazine with information and inspiration;
  • Receives a Child discount on entrance tickets for selected events, such as the Dutch Judo Championships.

Ina Hijman-van Kempen, acting director of JBN: "This collaboration allows children who would otherwise not be able to do so financially to enjoy judo and take full advantage of their JBN membership. The agreed-upon methodology ensures an efficient process and less administrative work."
