Club Battle is something you do together!
Compete with your own club against other clubs on the Breda Singelloop course. This was the Flowserve Club Battle. During the 5k, participants proudly sprinted for prizes in their own club uniforms, amid loud applause and cheers. Besides the increased visibility, there was also financial gain for the sports clubs.
1st prize €500: the association with the fastest five finishers;
2nd prize €300: the association with the fastest individual association runner;
3rd prize €200: the association with the most participants;
Tombola €500: all participating associations compete.
AV Sprint goes with the 1th A prize. Not entirely surprising with so much running talent, but ultimately, you have to make it happen. Thanks to Jasper Heijblom, Lars Crutzen, Moussa Moskil, Bob ten Wolde, and Max Crutzen, AV Sprint receives the €500 check. Runner Sebastian Verkuilen of Baronie football club wins the 2th price. He ran a fantastic 5th time, behind the aforementioned AV Sprint runners, crossing the finish line in just 21:55 minutes. Baronie Football Club received a check for €300 for this achievement.
Rksv Groen Wit will receive €200, as they had the most participants who finished the race! A fantastic achievement!
Willem Butz, chairman of the Breda Singelloop, presented the checks at the Sprint Athletics Club. According to Max van Ommen, club advisor at Breda Actief, it was a fantastic second edition. "With over 100 children registered for the Club Battle and ten participating teams, we've had a significant boost compared to last year. It was a wonderful sight to see the participants running past in their recognizable club uniforms; from Rkvv JEKA to the UVV'40 women's team. The team spirit was palpable! And for the Breda spectators, it was often a nice moment of recognition too!"
Sponsor Flowserve provided an additional €500 prize. This prize was awarded through a raffle. Beek Vooruit Football Club received the check! "How fantastic! We hadn't anticipated this at all. We're going to find a great destination for our youth members to use this amount!"
Of the Club Battle registration fee, €2.50 goes to the Breda Youth Sports & Culture Fund, and €2.50 goes to the club itself. It's a win-win situation, as members support their own club or association, and you ensure that children who can't afford to pay dues at home can also join a club.
The Club Battle is a collaboration between Breda Actief, the Breda Youth Fund for Sports and Culture, and the Singelloop Breda. Flowserve from Etten-Leur, the namesake of the Club Battle, is a proud sponsor and encourages youth members at clubs in and around Breda and Etten-Leur to get more exercise.
