Breakdance lessons The Floor is Yours in Appingedam
'The Floor is Yours' is a series of ten breakdance lessons given at various locations in the Netherlands, giving children the opportunity to dance and be part of a group. The Floor is Yours has been organised twice a year since 2017 by the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture, Mad Skills and the Dutch Breakdance League.
The Floor is Yours starts in Appingedam on Friday, November 8th, with dance coach Peter Buring. All children between the ages of 6 and 12 are welcome! The lessons are an excellent way to get acquainted with urban dance. The cost for the entire series of dance lessons is €25. If parents cannot afford the lessons, the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture will cover the tuition. For the Damster edition of The Floor is Yours, the IVAK foundation provided support with the location and contacts with schools.
Come to the battle!
Part of The Floor is Yours is a dance battle. This battle, featuring participants from the Northern Netherlands, will take place on Sunday, February 16th in Assen (Podium Zuidhaege). Participants will be introduced to the competitive element of breakdancing. In a battle, students can showcase moves they've learned during the series of lessons.
