Who can you help?
The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Amsterdam is there for children and young people:
- up to 17 years;
- from Amsterdam & Weesp;
- who grow up in families that have difficulty paying tuition.
Does a child live outside Amsterdam or Weesp? You can also help. Applications are processed by the fund nearest the child. So, go to a Youth Fund in the neighborhood of the child.
When can you help?
Does the child have a City Pass? Parents can then submit an application themselvesDoes the child not have a City Pass? Or does the family need help with the application? Then you, as a support worker, can offer support.
How can you help?
As a Meerkracht (More Power), you can support parents with their application. You can inspire, inform, and advise them about the options available to help their children participate in sports, cultural activities, and/or diploma swimming. You can submit the application for them. You can investigate their eligibility for compensation and explain why. You can also accompany them to a trial lesson or simply offer a listening ear. In short, you can guide parents throughout the entire process.

Applications without a City Pass
Does the child not have a City Pass? As a Meerkracht (More Power), you can review the family's personal situation and explain the application to the Youth Fund. The application requires an explanation of why the Youth Fund needs to pay for the child's activity. This explanation might include, for example:
- the income is lower than 150% of the minimum wage or;
- there are debts; the family is in debt restructuring, or;
- it concerns newcomers or undocumented people with a low income, or;
- there are other reasons why parents cannot pay the costs for sports, culture and diploma swimming.
