Bushido Sports School points the way to the Youth Fund
As a sports or cultural provider, you can make a real difference by referring members to the Youth Sports & Culture Fund. Bushido Sports School in Tiel is a great example. We spoke with the owner. Jos van Toorn about how his club is committed to providing sporting opportunities for all children.
A club with a rich history and sporting pleasure at the forefront

Bushido Sports School has been around since 1972 and now has approximately 2,200 members, including over 400 youth members. At Bushido, the focus is on enjoying sports. Children can enjoy karate, kickboxing, judo, and hip-hop street dance. A diverse program ensures that every child can find something to suit them.
Gelderland Youth Fund for Sports & Culture as an important partner
Bushido works closely with the Youth Fund Sports & Culture GelderlandThis organization plays a key role in raising awareness of the fund among parents and children. "They also help with the application process," says Jos. The club itself occasionally promotes the fund via social media, and this collaboration has proven effective.
The right to play sports
Why does Jos van Toorn think the Youth Fund is important? "Because every child has the right to play sports," he says emphatically. "Sports should be accessible to everyone. The Youth Fund helps enormously with this." A powerful and touching message.
Sport makes you stronger – literally and figuratively
According to Jos, sports offer much more than just physical activity. "It connects children, makes them mentally and physically stronger, and helps them make new friends." That's precisely why every membership counts: every child who can participate is a success story in itself.
A tip for other clubs
Finally, Jos shares a valuable message: “The youth are our future.” By working together with organizations like the Youth Fund, associations can ensure that no child is left behind.
