Moerdijk swimmers donate €5,000
Moerdijk Lions Club organizes the annual Lions Swimming Festival. Thanks to sponsored lap swims, more than eighty participants raised a fantastic €5,000 on March 11th for "Swimming for Swimming." This charity gives children from the municipality of Moerdijk whose parents are unable to afford swimming lessons the opportunity to obtain their swimming certificate. On June 20th, Lions Club president Ruud Tiemann presented a check to Monique Valk, coordinator of the Brabant Youth Fund for Sports and Culture. Alderman Bennie Blom and Swim Festival organizer John Scholten were also present at this festive event at Moerdijk City Hall.
With the proceeds, nine children from the municipality are guaranteed to obtain their A swimming diploma!
In 2024, the Lions Club Moerdijk will once again organize the Swimming Festival in the Niervaert swimming pool in Klundert.
