Students launch campaign for children in poverty
Due to current energy prices and inflation, more and more people are finding themselves in financial difficulties. December is the month of festive holidays and gifts. Unfortunately, there are also many families in poverty for whom December is a difficult time. For example, not all children receive presents for Sinterklaas or can enjoy a lavish Christmas meal.
The Youth Fund for Sports and Culture in South Holland wants to give children from less fortunate families the gift of opportunity this December: the chance to participate in sports or cultural activities. What better gift could there be than giving a child the chance to participate?
Give it a try!
Four students have launched a campaign for the Youth Fund: Give a Chance! With this campaign, they aim to raise as much money as possible so that even more children in South Holland have the opportunity to participate in sports and cultural activities.
The Youth Fund is committed to enabling children from low-income families to participate in sports, cultural activities, and swimming lessons. Applying is easy through an intermediary, such as a teacher, community sports coach, or professional counselor. They can apply on behalf of a child.
The students are trying to raise awareness for the cause and raise donations. Donations can be made through the donation platform to help children and families. The donations help the Youth Fund pay for children's membership fees or tuition.
We believe that every child should have this opportunity.
Three students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and one from ROC Mondriaan are working to raise money for children from low-income families. Kevin Wolgen and Solaia Henriquez are studying Sports Science, Nina Mendez Rosa is studying HALO, and Twan Fako is studying Sports & Exercise.
The four students started this campaign because they believe it's important that everyone gets a fair chance. "Participating in sports and cultural activities is very important to us because it allows us to socialize and be healthy at the same time. We believe every child should have the opportunity to do this."
How can you help?
For every €250 raised, the South Holland Youth Fund for Sports and Culture can help one child participate in sports or cultural activities. Will you join us? You can make your contribution here.
