Sponsoring a match ball isn't particularly unusual for a handball club. But donating a portion of it to charity isn't that common. Handball club VAKO from Vries is doing just that. They're donating a portion of their sponsorship money to charity. The club is running a new fundraising campaign where individuals and businesses can symbolically sponsor a match ball for 35 euros. Of this amount, 30 euros will go to the club and 5 euros to charity.
Youth Fund Sports & Culture Drenthe
VAKO has chosen a local charity that supports youth and sports. In Drenthe, that charity is the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture. Marije Joling, ambassador for the fund, accepted the check for €190 yesterday. However, that's not the final amount yet. The campaign is still ongoing; a match ball can still be sponsored.
