TOGETHER. Lycurgus supports the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture

The Groningen Youth Fund for Sport & Culture is a social partner of premier league volleyball team Amysoft Lycurgus. The newly crowned 2020 Super Cup winner believes it's important that all children can participate, even if they can't afford it at home. Whether it's a volleyball membership or the fees/tuition for soccer, gymnastics, judo, dance, or music lessons, the Youth Fund ensures that no child is left behind. That's why Amysoft Lycurgus has chosen to feature the Youth Fund logo on their competition shorts to raise awareness for this worthy cause.

Lycurgus
Trainer/coach Arjan Taaij explains why the Groningen Youth Fund for Sports and Culture was chosen as a social partner: “As a coach and sports teacher, I think it's fantastic that we're taking on this project. Vitality is incredibly important. We can support it through sports and exercise. As a volleyball player, I'd love to use volleyball to achieve this. We're performing well and have players who have been given the opportunity to develop their talents. TOGETHER is our social theme. Together with the Groningen Youth Fund for Sports and Culture, we want to give something back by inspiring and enthusing children. We're happy to contribute to that.”

Corona
Lycurgus recently won the Super Cup for the fifth time. Unfortunately, this time, due to COVID-19 guidelines, it took place in a completely empty hall, so without an audience. It's not just the volleyball world that's facing changes as a result of COVID-19. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Youth Sports & Culture Fund also expects to see an increase in the number of applications. This is particularly true for parents working in sectors such as hospitality or the cultural sector, as well as freelancers who are seeing their work decrease. All parents who, perhaps temporarily, lack sufficient funds to allow their child(ren) to participate in sports or cultural activities can apply for support from the Youth Sports & Culture Fund.

Social partner
Rob Schuur, chairman of the Groningen Youth Fund for Sports and Culture since this summer, is pleased with the partnership with Lycurgus. "By leveraging Lycurgus' exposure, the Youth Fund hopes to reach even more children in its target group. And it's fantastic that these children can also attend top-level volleyball matches. The Youth Fund's brand awareness will certainly increase thanks to this collaboration."

Amysoft Lycurgus, under the name SAMEN. Lycurgus, will therefore highlight the Groningen Youth Fund for Sports & Culture in various ways and at various times throughout the season. Their social responsibility will be demonstrated, for example, by displaying the Youth Fund logo on their match shorts. Children who use the Youth Fund can attend matches and raise awareness for the fund during school tours (volleyball clinics at primary schools) and in their communications.
